MAKARIOS ("we," "our," or "us") is a free Christian discipleship mobile application. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the MAKARIOS app.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. Sign-in is via email and password only. You may also enter the app as a guest, in which case Firebase generates an anonymous identifier; guest mode does not require your name or email address.
Progress Data: Once you have an account, we store your in-app progress (saved prayers, quiz scores, streaks, completed content) on our servers so that it syncs across your devices. This data is part of your account record and is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.
Journal Entries: Any journal entries you create are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
Profile Photo: If you set a profile photo, the image is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded.
We do not use your information for advertising, behavioral tracking, or third-party marketing. The app does not include any advertising SDKs and does not currently send analytics events to any third party.

The app does not integrate any analytics, advertising, payment, or subscription services.
Your account and progress data are stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud). We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Authentication credentials are encrypted and stored using secure device storage.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from within the app, we will delete your associated account record and stored progress within 30 days. Journal entries stored locally on your device are not affected by account deletion.

MAKARIOS is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
